Hi Janine,

I'm finally getting some quality time to read your postings. To say I am impressed is an understatement!
I sensed order, conformity, obedience and respect in the school photos. Did I notice that the children were sitting in rows in math class? The first/second graders were just precious; and the yellow covers for the first graders bags surely gives them an extra measure of safety and noticeability. To see these students serving each other lunch, brushing their teeth in an orderly fashion, cleaning up the classroom and hallway really awed me.
I found the ceremony at the Peace Memorial very touching; the pictures of the hanging cranes just moved me to tears, Janine.
A few more questions: Is there a pre-school, kdg. program? How are the young ones started off in reading--sounds, pictures, phonics? Do the older kids get homework in addition to a longer school day?
I think your room is the epitome of efficiency and comfort. That privy looks like the best lava-brary in town!
Loved your picture with the sixth graders.
Take care,

Mom

Love,

Mom

This photo of the students cleaning up the lunch room after lunch was so suprising because over here in our school we dont clean up after lunch, the custodians does that. They are very clean and tidy which is awsome and I need to learn how to do that when I am in my room
